Growing up in Sydney, Dr Luxford studied Medicine at the University of New South Wales and trained as a rural General Practitioner in the Riverina before specialising as an Obstetrician Gynaecologist. 

Dr Luxford is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. In addition to overseeing the Vulvovaginal Gynaecology clinic at Blacktown Hospital she provides a gynaecological service as part of a multidisciplinary team caring for patietns following bone marrow transplants at the Crown Princess Mary Cancer Care Centre at Westmead Hospital. Dr Luxford also works as a consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist at Ultrasound Care, a tertiary level ultrasound service with multiple practices throughout Sydney.
